Trust & Safety

Your Safety is Our Priority

Talk and listen freely. Behind every conversation stands a wall of verified identities, always-on moderation, and tools that put you in control.

Defence in Depth

Three layers guard every conversation

Safety on Talkiva is never one feature. It is a stack — identity, technology, and you.

KYC-Verified Listeners

No Listener speaks a word until they pass government-ID verification — PAN and Aadhaar e-KYC, plus our 6-step onboarding screen. Documents are re-checked periodically, are never visible to other users, and never leave secure storage. One person, one account: duplicates and ban-evasion attempts are terminated on discovery.

AI Copilot — always on, always watching for harm

During audio and text sessions, our real-time AI Copilot continuously flags threats, coercion, grooming patterns, hate, and financial manipulation as they happen. High-risk flags can pause a session instantly; child-safety and life-threat categories escalate without delay, and standard safety reports are actioned within 24 hours. The Copilot analyses patterns for moderation only — it is not a human eavesdropper, and recordings are encrypted and access-controlled.

You hold the controls

Block anyone in one tap — blocked users can never call, message, or rematch with you, and they are never told. Every profile, chat, and session carries a Report button that goes straight to our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 24 hours on safety reports — faster where the IT Rules, 2021 require.

House Rules

House rules, in one breath

Talkiva exists for support and conversation — never exploitation. Breaking these rules can mean content removal, account suspension, permanent ban, Coin forfeiture, or referral to law enforcement.

Compliance & Governance

In line with the Information Technology Rules, 2021, three officers are appointed to keep Talkiva transparent and answerable.

For authorities only

Nodal Officer

For law enforcement & authorities only. Appointed under Rule 13 of the IT Rules, 2021 as the single point of contact for police, courts, and government agencies acting under lawful process.

  • [Nodal Officer Name]

  • Requests from the general public to this channel will be redirected to the Grievance Officer.

Beyond Talkiva

Emergency and expert help, one call away

When a situation is bigger than a conversation, these national services exist for exactly that moment.

These services are independent of Talkiva and operate under their own protocols. In a life-threatening emergency, always call 112 or 100 first.

Safety FAQs

What happens when something goes wrong?

Open their profile or an active chat, tap the block icon, and confirm. Blocking is instant and silent — the blocked user cannot call, message, or rematch with you, and is never notified. You can review and unblock users anytime in Settings → Blocked Users.

Your report goes directly to our Grievance Officer. We acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 24 hours on safety reports. Depending on severity, action can range from a warning and content removal to suspension, a permanent ban with Coin forfeiture, or referral to law enforcement where the law requires.

For serious reports, the affected accounts may be paused while evidence is reviewed — that includes call metadata, chat logs, and, where a session was recorded for safety, the encrypted recording. Only authorised, trained moderators access this material, and both parties' privacy is protected throughout. You'll be told the outcome of a report you filed.

No. Blocks are always silent. For reports, we share as little as possible: the reported user is never shown who filed the report, and standard safety reports remain confidential. Exceptions only arise where the law compels disclosure, such as evidence in a police investigation.
